Michael White has advanced degrees in both education and business. His education background includes teaching, consulting, and school administration. His business experience includes sales and marketing, sales management, and business development. An understanding of the issues that employers and employees face in the workplace makes Michael a popular consultant, writer and speaker. Michael’s passion for creating a culture of health at work began in 2007 when an employer challenged him with finding a solution to an unhealthy and costly workforce. His success led to the creation of WELL Street in 2008 and to involvement in worksite wellness efforts across Illinois, and throughout the Midwest.
Michael White's passion for helping people and businesses be happier, healthier, and more productive has led him into influential leadership roles in many organizations. In 2013, Michael authored the “Illinois Healthy Worksite Designation” that is sponsored by the Governor’s Council on Health and Physical Fitness, the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition. In 2014, Michael began working with Activate Healthcare, a nationwide leader in providing onsite/near-site primary care for organizations of all kinds and sizes. His role at Activate, as National Worksite Wellness Director, is to create cultures of health in the workplaces that are served by Activate clinics. Also in 2014, he began a 2-year term as Chairman of the Metro Chicago American Heart Association’s “My Heart. My Life” committee. Michael is completing requirements from the Mayo Clinic’s Wellness Coaching Certification program. He serves as President of the Board of Directors for “Building a Healthier Chicago”. And, he is the author of, “How to Make Your Workplace Happier, Healthier and More Productive”.
