Michaela has dedicated her career to supporting health & wellness professionals and the industry at large. Through her company HPCareer.Net, llc (which is a certified small, woman owned company based in Columbia MD, Health Promotion LIVE and State of Wellness.

In 2009, she founded Health Promotion LIVE (HPLive.org), to provide unbiased professional continuing education opportunities through free weekly webinars with Nationally and Internationally recognized experts and thought leaders on topics in and around health promotion.  HPLive is a recognized provider of continuing education through numerous organizations including: the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, The National Board of Public Health Examiners, The Human Resource Certification Institute and several others. 

In 2012, she formed State of Wellness (StateofWellness.org) a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support evidence-based worksite health & wellness programs and to facilitate collaboration among public and private organizations at the national, state & local levels. 

Michaela has been featured in two books: _Under The Radar: Starting Your Net Business without Venture Capital_, (2001). and _Single Women Entrepreneurs_ (2010). She has been recognized for her "Outstanding Contributions of Technology" for the health education profession by the AAHE, HEDIR and Jones & Bartlett Publishers (2002) and others
