We are Liberty Lutheran, a non-profit Lutheran social and health care agency. I have been the wellness coordinator here for the past 10 years. We employee 1150 employees throughout the great state of PA. This is the 10 year anniversary of their employee wellness program.
Professional Development - BS in Nutritional Science, Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist, CPT - NASM, Fitness Expert-ISMA, AADE Education Aide, Corporate Chef and Certified Adult Weight Management Counselor ADA.
Demonstrated Success - 86% participation rates including 6 buildings fostering pool, casual, part time and full time employees.
Our Featured Programs- Full day interactive Stress management classes for employees, offered by our president, for all employees - classes are scheduled throughout the year.
Free Smoking Cessation classes offered throughout the year.
We employ a hands-on approach in working with or employees on a cultural, medical and behavioral level to engage them in preventing and treating disease.

66% Cholesterol screenings, 44% Annual Wellness visits, 100% Lipid panel screens, 97% HbA1c, 74% Renal, 50% Breast Cancer and 41% Cervical Cancer.

We hold a gold award with Welcoa as we strive to increase our program using the 7 benchmarks. We work closely with the CEO and HR to promote health as a core competency. Communication comes from the CEO with our 12 person wellness team expanding the charge. We provide a 24/7 health portal for our employees to access health information, their HRA and health reward program.
Leadership- I work closely with the CEO, HR, wellness team and wellness coaches so we can provide our employees with the tools they need to achieve their goals. Wellness is built into our core competencies and is a culture that is recognized throughout the organization.
Innovation- We are a self-funded not for profit. Each year we work with our brokers to evaluate data and provide health insurance needs in an affordable way. Employee premiums have remained constant for the past 5 years. We offer a competitive high deductible plan that we contribute to (HSA) to help with getting our employees involved in a consumer driven health culture.
Vision- Prevention and consumerism are what we will focus on. We have the opportunity in educating and helping employees fend off these rising health care costs by leading a healthy lifestyle (prevention) and managing disease in an educated and affordable way (management). We want to provide a better relationship between the employee, their doctor and our health provider.
